AN OFFICE DESIGN THAT SUPPORTS AGILE WORKING

According to the highly detailed brief, the office design needed to encourage workers to leave whichever desk they happened to be using clear at the end of the day. The meeting spaces had to suit groups of between two and six with varying privacy requirements and the sales area had to be separated from the visitor area without using hard walls.

THE PROJECT

OUR CHALLENGE

Unum Limited is an insurance company occupying a 2,414 ft2 space on the 11th floor of City Tower in London EC2. With multiple locations around the globe, Unum wanted their London office fit-out to move them from a traditional open plan office concept (with dedicated desks for individual workers) to a more flexible ‘agile working’ arrangement in line with their evolving corporate strategy.

THE NHQ DIFFERENCE

NHQ presented a detailed proposal including a complete interior design and implementation package for an agile working office space. The strong Unum brand was central to the office design as the new space had to be a ‘brand immersive’ experience.

STARK BUT STYLISH – FUNCTIONAL BUT IMPERSONAL

Consistent with the agile working concept, all of the desks are uniformly interpersonal and no workstation storage has been provided to discourage any sense of individual ownership. The meeting areas include booths and corridor benches catering for a collaborative style. Each zone within the space is functioning at optimal efficiency.
